As a surprise rookie at the end of the transfer window, Rafinha handed his FC Barcelona suitcase to PSG. And in the face of some criticism, the Catalan club wanted to explain.

With Danilo Pereira, PSG held their coveted midfielder during this transfer window. Leonardo didn’t stop at the player on loan from FC Porto, however, as at the end of the transfer window it was Rafinha who added Thomas Tuchel’s workforce. At the age of 27, the Brazilian came from FC Barcelona for € 0. Indeed, the two clubs managed to agree on a free transfer but negotiated bonuses that could reach € 3m and 35% on resale for Barça. PSG have therefore achieved a lot, while in Catalonia we do not understand this decision to let Rafinha go without compensation.

An economy above all at wage level!

Like Rafinha, Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and Luis Suarez have all left FC Barcelona without reporting much to the Catalan club. What makes some angry. However, this Wednesday, Mundo Deportivo declare that the answer to this criticism at Barça is that no club could have made major transfers during these difficult times. These players have therefore disappeared and still represent a huge saving in terms of payroll. Regarding Rafinha, the Blaugrana have reportedly sacked him for PSG as well after feeling hurt that he has not been able to secure a starting role in recent years. A light he could see now on the side of the Parc des Princes.
