At the end of the contract next June, Florian Thauvin should not come back for another season. And while AC Milan seems to be his future goal, Sevilla FC would have a say.
Since returning to OM after his unsuccessful Newcastle experience, Florian Thauvin has clearly become an important part of the Marseille squad. However, since his coronation with the French side in Russia in 2018, the OM winger has seen a severe slump, particularly last season when he played very little due to significant physical concerns. Thauvin is under contract until next June and has not yet received any specific signal from his management regarding a possible extension. As it stands, there would be a contract-free or even winter exit. But who will win the share of this file?
AC Milan in line, but Sevilla FC more attractive?
Lately the trend has been moving away from AC Milan. Nevertheless, the Rossoneri would not be the only ones who would pinch for the world champion. Indeed, Estadio Deportivo ensures that Monchi has the OM winger in its sights. The Sevilla FC sporting director would also likely make an offer that the player could not refuse, namely a salary more attractive than what he is currently receiving at OM, as well as an attractive sporting challenge with the possibility of regularly attending the Champions League take part. It remains to be seen which end goal Florian Thauvin prefers.
