Harold Moukoudi, who was loaned to Middlesbrough last season, could have stayed in England. Eventually the center-back returned to ASSE this summer. A turning point at which the main interested party returned.
Harold Moukoudi, who has appeared three times since the start of the season, should play a role at ASSE, especially after Wesley Fofana left for Leicester. For the Cameroonian international, however, it was anything but won. Indeed, his future could have been written a long way from Forez. Last season the center-back was loaned to Middlesbrough, who had a purchase option. While it almost looked like he would be lifted from the English club, Moukoudi eventually returned to ASSE ahead of the final Coupe de France final.
“Convinced of the sports project, I said I was ready for it.”
After all, the rest of Harold Moukoudi’s career will continue to be written on the ASSE site. During an interview with the Journal du Cameroun, Claude Puel’s protégé confided in his return to the Greens and his decision to take on the challenge: “I’ll be ready in Middlesbrough in January. Things went very well in England, but a few days before the Coupe de France final, Saint-Etienne called me back to play. From there, the club made it clear to me that I should stay, that I would continue the adventure in Saint-Etienne. Convinced of the sports project, I said I was going to start and ready to have a great season. “
